With the new school year approaching, Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co Ltd, the school bus maker in China by sales volume, has seen a significant increase in orders in August, according to financial news website Caijing.com.cn.

"Orders for school buses received in August reached more than 1,000, which was a dramatic increase," Yu Li, secretary of the board of directors of the company was quoted as saying on Aug 15 by the website.

Yutong sold 2,231 school buses in the first quarter, with a market share of 34.4 percent. Although the market entered a slow period in the second quarter, Yutong kept average sales of about 400 buses a month, taking a 25-percent share of the market, according to Chinabus.Info, which follows the country's bus industry.
