Seats, as safety parts of school buses, are receiving increasingly attention by manufacturing and utilization sectors. China’s first national standard for dynamic test of school bus seats, namely GB24406-2012, came into force on May 1, 2012. Recently, Yutong successfully conducted China’s 1st crash test of school bus seats. Unlike the conventional static test way, this time the whole process was conducted in a dynamic way so as to showcase the actual protection effect of the seats, creating a precedent in China’s dynamic crash test of school bus seats.

China’s 1^st dynamic crash test of school bus seats

The school bus seats are the sitting area of school children, whose performance will be directly related with the comfort and safety of them on the way to and from school. Meanwhile, the appearance, style and firmness of the seats also define the asthetics and reliability of school buses. During the driving of the school bus, the vibration arising from the uneven roads is transferred to the human body through the seats. Especially in case of the emergency brake or occurrence of vehicle collision, people expect higher requirements on the safety of school bus seats, so that the children can be firmly restrained onto the seats and avoid the second collision injury.
